Russia stocks higher at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index up 0.32%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Manufacturing and Mining sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 0.32%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Bank VTB PJSC (MCX: VTBR ), which rose 2.44% or 2.48 points to trade at 104.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX: TRNF_p ) added 2.15% or 29.00 points to end at 1,380.00 and Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref (MCX: SNGS_p ) was up 0.37% or 0.19 points to 51.56 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Rostelekom PJSC (MCX: RTKM ), which fell 2.15% or 1.16 points to trade at 52.91 at the close. Aeroflot PJSC (MCX: AFLT ) declined 2.02% or 1.29 points to end at 62.59 and Rosneft PJSC (MCX: ROSN ) was down 1.88% or 8.45 points to 440.30.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 199 to 48 and 4 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.69% to 31.92.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.04% or 1.30 to $3,384.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 8.88% or 6.56 to hit $67.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.06 to trade at $69.09 a barrel.

USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 78.50, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 90.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 97.97.
