Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.75%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology , Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.75% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ), which rose 0.88% or 0.04 points to trade at 4.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever PLC (AS: ULVR ) added 0.15% or 0.08 points to end at 52.26 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS: AD ) was up 0.14% or 0.05 points to 35.76 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding NV (AS: ASML ), which fell 2.61% or 17.70 points to trade at 659.40 at the close. Aegon Ltd (AS: AEGN ) declined 2.48% or 0.15 points to end at 6.06 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) was down 2.01% or 0.56 points to 27.28.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 68 to 31 and 7 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.00% or 0.67 to $66.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.96% or 0.66 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.12 to trade at $3,343.02 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.63.
