Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.15%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction , Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.15% to hit a new 5-year high.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Port (AT: OLPr ), which rose 5.24% or 2.40 points to trade at 48.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Orilina Properties AEEAP (AT: ORILINAr ) added 3.90% or 0.03 points to end at 0.80 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT: KRIr ) was up 3.87% or 0.70 points to 18.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were National Bank of Greece SA (AT: NBGr ), which fell 2.13% or 0.24 points to trade at 11.05 at the close. Fourlis Hld (AT: FRLr ) declined 1.76% or 0.07 points to end at 3.90 and Avax SA (AT: AVAr ) was down 1.64% or 0.04 points to 2.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 57 and 24 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.04% or 1.45 to $3,341.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.87% or 0.58 to hit $66.42 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.52 to trade at $68.28 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 96.65.
