India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.22%

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Real Estate and Public Sector Undertakings sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.22%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (NSE: BJFN ), which rose 1.74% or 15.85 points to trade at 926.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NSE: REDY ) added 1.58% or 20.40 points to end at 1,311.70 and Infosys Ltd (NSE: INFY ) was up 1.25% or 20.30 points to 1,639.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trent Ltd (NSE: TREN ), which fell 11.37% or 704.00 points to trade at 5,487.00 at the close. Tata Steel Ltd (NSE: TISC ) declined 1.69% or 2.81 points to end at 163.10 and Eicher Motors Ltd. (NSE: EICH ) was down 1.54% or 88.00 points to 5,628.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO: BJFN ) which rose 1.65% to 925.75, Infosys Ltd (BO: INFY ) which was up 1.38% to settle at 1,640.40 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO: HLL ) which gained 1.20% to close at 2,340.00.
The worst performers were Tata Steel Ltd (BO: TISC ) which was down 1.63% to 163.15 in late trade, Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO: TEML ) which lost 1.13% to settle at 1,654.00 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO: INBK ) which was down 0.93% to 854.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1241 to 1150 and 40 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2151 rose and 1733 declined, while 136 ended unchanged.
The India VIX , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.87% to 12.28 a new 6-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.08% or 2.70 to $3,345.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.84% or 0.56 to hit $66.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.61 to trade at $68.19 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.01% to 85.42, while EUR/INR rose 0.15% to 100.60.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 96.61.
