France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.35%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials , Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.35%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.32%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ), which rose 2.84% or 1.38 points to trade at 49.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA: HRMS ) added 2.48% or 58.00 points to end at 2,400.00 and Accor SA (EPA: ACCP ) was up 1.91% or 0.88 points to 46.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Capgemini SE (EPA: CAPP ), which fell 5.58% or 8.10 points to trade at 137.15 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA: TTEF ) declined 2.23% or 1.18 points to end at 51.79 and Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) was down 1.98% or 0.17 points to 8.41.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Remy Cointreau (EPA: RCOP ) which rose 3.71% to 50.65, JC Decaux SA (EPA: JCDX ) which was up 3.03% to settle at 15.63 and Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) which gained 2.84% to close at 49.96.

The worst performers were Capgemini SE (EPA: CAPP ) which was down 5.58% to 137.15 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA: VLTSA ) which lost 5.22% to settle at 8.54 and Valneva (EPA: VLS ) which was down 3.63% to 2.39 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 259 to 226 and 89 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.46% or 15.55 to $3,330.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.64% or 1.09 to hit $67.59 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.29% or 0.88 to trade at $69.18 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 96.99.
