Spain stocks higher at close of trade; IBEX 35 up 1.17%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate , Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.17%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME: GRLS ), which rose 5.51% or 0.60 points to trade at 11.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Indra A (BME: IDR ) added 5.42% or 2.02 points to end at 39.32 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME: SLRS ) was up 3.94% or 0.40 points to 10.42 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Puig Brands SA (BME: PUIGb ), which fell 0.78% or 0.13 points to trade at 16.49 at the close. Repsol (BME: REP ) declined 0.31% or 0.04 points to end at 12.80 and Enagas (BME: ENAG ) was down 0.22% or 0.03 points to 13.40.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 138 to 51 and 19 ended unchanged.

Shares in Grifols SA (BME: GRLS ) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.51% or 0.60 to 11.40. Shares in Indra A (BME: IDR ) rose to all time highs; rising 5.42% or 2.02 to 39.32.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.60 to $3,317.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.32% or 0.22 to hit $68.55 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.17 to trade at $70.32 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 97.26.
