Belgium stocks lower at close of trade; BEL 20 down 0.66%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods , Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.66%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ), which rose 4.01% or 0.59 points to trade at 15.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR: AZE ) added 1.18% or 0.16 points to end at 13.67 and Syensqo SA (EBR: SYENS ) was up 1.12% or 0.76 points to 68.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were D’Ieteren NV (EBR: IETB ), which fell 3.00% or 5.60 points to trade at 181.10 at the close. KBC Groep NV (EBR: KBC ) declined 1.95% or 1.76 points to end at 88.34 and Solvay SA (EBR: SOLB ) was down 1.56% or 0.46 points to 28.98.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 48 to 47 and 17 ended unchanged.

Shares in Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.01% or 0.59 to 15.29.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.73% or 24.40 to $3,334.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.69% or 0.46 to hit $66.52 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.39 to trade at $68.82 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 98.23.
