T-Mobile hires new COO from Deutsche Telekom

T-Mobile US (NASDAQ: TMUS ) on Monday announced the appointment of Srinivasan Gopalan as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective March 1.

Gopalan, who is joining from Deutsche Telekom (OTC: DTEGY ), T-Mobile's largest shareholder, will be responsible for spearheading the company's technology initiatives and overseeing go-to-market operations for both consumer and business groups.

Gopalan's compensation package includes a base salary of $1 million annually, with the potential to earn a minimum of $2 million in short-term cash incentives based on the achievement of performance goals.

Additionally, T-Mobile disclosed that he will receive a one-time sign-on payment of $2 million.

In his new role, Gopalan will report directly to T-Mobile's Chief Executive Mike Sievert. Sievert previously held the COO position before taking over as CEO from John Legere in 2020.
