Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.31%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Natura & Co SA (BVMF: NTCO3 ), which rose 2.84% or 0.26 points to trade at 9.41 at the close. Meanwhile, IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF: IRBR3 ) added 2.66% or 1.30 points to end at 50.12 and Banco BTG Pactual SA (BVMF: BPAC11 ) was up 1.91% or 0.63 points to 33.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF: MGLU3 ), which fell 6.37% or 0.69 points to trade at 10.14 at the close. Petroleo Brasileiro SA (BVMF: PETR3 ) declined 5.57% or 2.10 points to end at 35.63 and Lojas Renner SA (BVMF: LREN3 ) was down 4.19% or 0.53 points to 12.12.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 772 to 323 and 16 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.91% to 28.63.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.16% or 35.13 to $3,000.27 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.61% or 1.00 to hit $60.99 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 6.97% or 25.50 to trade at $340.20 .
USD/BRL was up 1.18% to 5.91, while EUR/BRL rose 0.80% to 6.45.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 103.24.
