Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 0.74%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing , Telecoms and Electricity sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.74%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ahlatci Dogal Gaz Dagitim Enerji ve Yatirim AS (IS: AHGAZ ), which rose 8.07% or 1.68 points to trade at 22.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS: TTKOM ) added 6.61% or 3.25 points to end at 52.45 and Grainturk Holding AS (IS: GRTHO ) was up 4.71% or 17.00 points to 378.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sekerbank TAS (IS: SKBNK ), which fell 4.36% or 0.24 points to trade at 5.26 at the close. Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS: CLEBI ) declined 3.96% or 127.50 points to end at 3,092.50 and Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS: TUPRS ) was down 2.78% or 3.70 points to 129.50.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 456 to 125 and 11 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.68% or 49.85 to $3,023.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.25% or 0.15 to hit $60.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.24 to trade at $63.97 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.15% to 38.01, while EUR/TRY rose 0.35% to 41.53.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.01.
