Norway stocks higher at close of trade; Oslo OBX up 0.95%

Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare Equipment & Services , Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.95% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (OL: KOG ), which rose 3.06% or 49.50 points to trade at 1,668.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL: GJFG ) added 2.71% or 6.80 points to end at 257.60 and Yara International ASA (OL: YAR ) was up 2.37% or 8.30 points to 357.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Nel ASA (OL: NEL ), which fell 4.49% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.30 at the close. TGS NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL: TGS ) declined 3.00% or 2.60 points to end at 84.10 and Hafnia Ltd (OL: HAFNI ) was down 2.98% or 1.62 points to 52.74.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 145 to 128 and 23 ended unchanged.

Shares in Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL: GJFG ) rose to all time highs; rising 2.71% or 6.80 to 257.60. Shares in Yara International ASA (OL: YAR ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.37% or 8.30 to 357.80.

Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.96% or 1.87 to $61.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.84% or 1.88 to hit $64.21 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.63% or 20.06 to trade at $3,208.36 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was up 0.73% to 11.66, while USD/NOK rose 0.62% to 10.42.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 100.74.
