India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.35%

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate , Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 lost 0.35%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Tata Steel Ltd (NSE: TISC ), which rose 3.59% or 5.75 points to trade at 165.81 at the close. Meanwhile, JSW Steel Ltd (NSE: JSTL ) added 2.78% or 28.60 points to end at 1,058.20 and Asian Paints Ltd. (NSE: ASPN ) was up 2.40% or 56.80 points to 2,426.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shriram Finance Ltd. (NSE: SHMF ), which fell 2.85% or 19.85 points to trade at 676.60 at the close. HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NSE: HDFL ) declined 2.58% or 20.90 points to end at 789.00 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NSE: INBK ) was down 2.54% or 22.35 points to 856.75.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Steel Ltd (BO: TISC ) which rose 3.63% to 165.75, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO: ASPN ) which was up 2.58% to settle at 2,429.90 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO: ULTC ) which gained 1.60% to close at 12,400.00.
The worst performers were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO: INBK ) which was down 2.60% to 856.50 in late trade, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO: BJFS ) which lost 2.10% to settle at 2,010.00 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO: LART ) which was down 1.96% to 3,595.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1438 to 946 and 50 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2086 fell and 1767 advanced, while 153 ended unchanged.
Shares in UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO: ULTC ) rose to all time highs; rising 1.60% or 195.40 to 12,400.00.
The India VIX , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.44% to 12.47.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.12% or 4.07 to $3,353.87 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.21% or 0.79 to hit $66.24 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.78 to trade at $67.89 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.06% to 85.67, while EUR/INR fell 0.19% to 100.90.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.54.
